Its reefs shelter a dizzying variety of creatures, including 40 types of coral and 160 different species of fish. The marine reserve encompasses mangroves and beds of sea grass, which ensure a safe habitat for southern stingrays and nurse sharks. A must do snorkel or dive when on Ambergris Caye! A shallow dive with an abundance of life. We chose Scuba School and Family Dive Center to take us there. They did a great job showing us around! more »

Reviews say it all - 5 stars ! Amazing snorkeling adventures and tons of marine life which the country is working hard to protect! There is a valley in the reef system which has a huge flow of marine life: rays, turtles, fish and lots of healthy coral. MAKE SURE the waters are clear the day of going out, nothing worse than not being able to see but 10 feet in front of you!! There are probably hundreds of different companies which will crew you out here and guide you about, as it is one of the primary tourist attractions near San Pedro and Ambergris Key.

Best snorkeling ever! Within minutes we went from land to seeing amazing coral, fish, stingrays, and even a turtle. Our guides were super knowledgeable and made sure we went at the best time and educated us to keep everything safe.
