Beach · Nature / Park
Nestled between the castles of San Sebastián and Santa Catalina La Caleta Beach is a natural harbor where the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, and Romans historically docked to enter southern Spain. Residents of Cádiz are proud of their iconic beach, and you'll hear about it in many of the songs they sing during Carnival. It's perched in front of Barrio la Viña, a neighborhood full of brightly colored houses that bear a striking resemblance to those in Cuba. Perhaps you will recognize it as the setting for the beach scenes in the James Bond movie “Die Another Day.” Enjoy a refreshing swim, the warm Spanish sun, and snacks from the chiringuitos, or snack bars, scattered about under the palm trees. • Excellent beach for families. Very popular and busy. Has an open shower facilities along the beach; but couldn't find any change rooms. If you want a shade from sun, look for Balmeario de la Palma building which is elevated off the beach. Good shade under it's pillars.
  • Nice beach, must go place for amazing sunset! Really close to old city and to the park! Pubplic parking was overloaded, had to take the paid one for 1.2 euro per hour ( santa catalina-right from the beach)
