Alhambra, Granada

4.6
Once the last Islamic stronghold in Europe, Alhambra reflects the splendor of the Moorish civilization in Spain, and offers visitors a chance to see exquisite ornamental architecture, lush gardens, cascading water features, and panoramic views of Granada. This complex was once a palace, citadel, fortress, and the home of the Nasrid sultans, high government officials and servants of the court. Within the medieval complex of structures you can also explore other prominent buildings belonging to different time periods, including the palace of Carlos V, noted for housing a museum of fine art. To avoid disappointment, be sure to book tickets at least a few days in advance by phone or online. • Impressive building and architecture. Well worth the visit. Booking online and a time slot at the earliest time was the best option. We arrived for 11.40 to join a short queue for the 12 o'clock slot ...  more »
  • Everything has been written about Alhambra, everything has already been drawn by hundreds of artists, millions of pictures are taken from every patch of ancient plates lining its rests and courtyards - and everything fascinates and fascinates...

  • A great place for family and friends to enjoy the view on Granada. It is majestic and beautiful. A lot of students and tourists from all over the world. Remember to book the ticket online in advance ( three months more or less ) Alternatively, you can go there early in the morning ( around 6am ) to try your luck and buy the ticket. The public toilet is clean. There also plenty of restaurants and cafe where you can have the break and enjoy the time.
  • Words can't describe the delight of visiting The Alhambra, so rather than attempt to write something new, let's quote rather famous visitors: Granada is so moving that it stimulates and melts all of the senses. Henri Matisse. Alexander Dumas once said that Granada; more dazzling than the flower and more flavorful than the fruit it is named after, like a virgin lying in the sun, later saying: The truth is, that I’m beginning to wonder if there is any greater pleasure in life than visiting Granada. …and it is going back and visiting it again. Alejandro Dumas. We simply marveled at our discoveries and delight, learning so much from history! Highly recommend!
