Puente Nuevo, Ronda
Trip Planner: Europe / Spain / Andalucia / Province of Malaga / Costa del Sol / Ronda / Puente Nuevo
Puente Nuevo is the newest and largest of three bridges that span the 120-m (390-ft) chasm that carries the Guadalevín River and divides the city of Ronda. For views of the 18th-century bridge itself, head to the Plaza Maria Auxiliadora. To learn more about how the bridge was built and why its chamber was used as a prison, go to the visitors’ center. Take in the views of the surrounding natural landscape, but be very careful near the edge. Puente Nuevo Reviews
Hele Ronda by, Puente Nuevo og den gamle tyrefægter arena er absolut 1 times flot køretur fra Marbella i bjergene værd. more »The entire Ronda city, Puente Nuevo and the old bullfighter arena are definitely worth a 1 hour drive from Marbella in the mountains.
Dejlig oplevelse og klart et besøg værd også om aftenen, hvor broen er oplyst. Man kan foretage en gåtur på den ene side af kløften. more »Nice experience and clearly worth a visit also in the evenings where the bridge is illuminated. You can make a walk on one side of the gorge.
As bridges go this is a very dramatic one. The setting in the gorge is fantastic. The views from either side of the bridge are wonderful and well worth the walking to get into position. There are many view points where you can stop and get a good photo. And there are several cafes along the route where you can get a drink and a different perspective on the bridge.
Ronda is one of my favourite places in the world. It is the classic old Moorish white village in Andalucia. The Puente Nuevo spans an extraordinary gorge which splits the old and new towns of Ronda. The old town is small and easy to walk around and has enormous character. Ronda also is home to the oldest bullring in Spain. The town is full of charm and has plenty of bars and restaurants to stop at after your walk. It's a very popular tourist spot and is better visited out of season.
