Bridge Lookout Must See
Puente Nuevo is the newest and largest of three bridges that span the 120-m (390-ft) chasm that carries the Guadalevín River and divides the city of Ronda. For views of the 18th-century bridge itself, head to the Plaza Maria Auxiliadora. To learn more about how the bridge was built and why its chamber was used as a prison, go to the visitors’ center. Take in the views of the surrounding natural landscape, but be very careful near the edge. • We stayed in Ronda so were lucky enough to visit this Bridge several times during our visit. The worst time to visit it is during the day where you have to push, shove and dodge the selfie stick being...  more »
  • Make sure you're either there early before all the busloads of tourists arrive either ah coastal end of the day when they are away. At night, the bridge is illuminated so definitely worth a moment. Around there are several restaurants overlooking the bridge, of course, the prices of the menu there to:) You can also walk to 2 sides around it so you on a somewhat lower place from a little park beautiful view of the bridge.

  • As bridges go this is a very dramatic one. The setting in the gorge is fantastic. The views from either side of the bridge are wonderful and well worth the walking to get into position. There are many view points where you can stop and get a good photo. And there are several cafes along the route where you can get a drink and a different perspective on the bridge.
  • Ronda is one of my favourite places in the world. It is the classic old Moorish white village in Andalucia. The Puente Nuevo spans an extraordinary gorge which splits the old and new towns of Ronda. The old town is small and easy to walk around and has enormous character. Ronda also is home to the oldest bullring in Spain. The town is full of charm and has plenty of bars and restaurants to stop at after your walk. It's a very popular tourist spot and is better visited out of season.
