Enjoy a day of education and entertainment with the animals at Al Ain Zoo, a 400 hectare (990 acre) site hosting over 4,000 critters. Opened in 1969, the zoo enjoys a scenic location in the foothills of the Jebel Hafeet mountains, where the native landscape serves as the natural home for many of its residents. This leader in the field of animal conservation counts over 30 percent of its species as endangered, including the Arabian oryx and the white lion. Take the onsite train to see the animals in habitats reminiscent of their native lands, and enjoy a guided tour to learn more about their behavior and the wider conservation project. Al Ain Zoo reviews
Visited this zoo back in 2019. I will admit that I wasn't as impressed and I thought I would've been. Granted the zoo is a decent size but I was expecting to see more animals. The animals seem... more »

Had a wonderful time. Variety of exhibits seen here is truly diverse. We went on a 45min Safari tour, where we saw a variety of African animals, got to feed carrots to Giraffes and got to see the lions in proximity. Our guide Talal was very friendly, a great driver, and also very knowledgeable. He gave us loads of insights about the behaviour of various animals. A special thanks to him!The Safari was great fun. A large number of exhibits in the Zoo aren't in cages, but in spacious enclosures, where the natural habitat of the animals/birds is replicated. Was nice to see that the exhibits were well taken care of. Security guards inside the campus of the Zoo were very helpful and friendly too. Only issue we had was in finding a taxi, at night, since there was no Taxi stand outside the Zoo. Overall, a wonderful experience.
We were very pleasantly surprised by the Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort. The place is huge and in 2 hours, I think we only managed to see about 1/2 of it (we plan to return). The park is very nicely organized, has a wide variety of animals, is well documented and the habitats look clean, spacious and most of all appropriate for the animals they are housing. They have also focused on animals that thrive in desert-type climates, so you won't see any polar bears or penguins here (something we really appreciated!) Everything is very well done including the bird show twice daily. For only 15 AED for entry, this is well worth the cost and highly recommended as part of your stay in Al Ain
