Enjoy the evening show at The Dubai Fountain, located on a 12 hectare (30 acre) man-made lake beneath the city's megatall skyscraper. Although possible to see the fountains during the day, most visitors come for the display after the sun sets. The elaborate set of choreographed water features was the largest of its kind upon completion in 2009. The fountains shoot water up to 152.4 m (500 ft) into the air, in time to a varied playlist of songs from around the world. A total of 6,600 lights and 25 colored projectors illuminate the waters, creating quite a spectacle around midday and regularly in the evenings.
